Artist Bio:
For Lucas, painting is meditation. It allows him to be fully present and in a state of flow where thoughts no longer occupy the mind - just forms, colors, and light.
This body of work portrays life in the tropics. Having grown up in a temperate climate, his impression of the jungle has always been that of a fantasy. Something that forever changed the creative juices flowing through Lucas were his psychedelic trips, more specifically, ayahuasca and the visions seen and felt during ceremonies. That jungle spirit now manifests through his art.
Lucas+ compositions weave together the land, sky, and a celestial body like the sun & moon. This gives energy to what comes next: flora & fauna. Birds and the freedom they inspire are a recurring theme amongst the series. The goal is to create stylized artworks that inspire collectors and take viewers on a colorful journey into the natural world.
